TWO BREEDERS' CUP WINNERS

Equine Prep, LLC’s team selected and purchased two Breeders’ Cup Winners prior to the start of the horses’ racing careers, a feat that few bloodstock agencies have accomplished.

Winner's Circle with Adoration

Adoration (above) won the 2003 $2,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Distaff and then added several more Graded Stakes Races to her list of achievements.  She won over $1.9 million and her worth is estimated at over $2,500,000. She was trained by prominent California trainer, Dave Hofmans, an Equine Prep, LLC director. After a minor injury, Adoration retired as a broodmare in 2004.

Alphabet Soup, Breeders' Cup Classic Winner

Alphabet Soup (above) won the 1996 $4,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Classic, defeating the legendary Cigar.  Finishing in the money in 21 of 24 races, he is now a popular American sire.

EQUINE PREP OVERVIEW

Purpose
Equine Prep, LLC's purpose is to generate profits from the purchase and resale (Pinhooking) of Thoroughbreds. Equine Prep provides professional selection, development and sales of Thoroughbred racehorses and breeding prospects to the high-end racehorse buyer.

John O'Hara examines an Equine Prep prospectSelection is the first and most important phase of any Thoroughbred racing or pinhooking prospect. The process begins with a skilled evaluation of a horse's physical profile, pedigree and movement. This process may be considered similar to a pro draft for human athletes.

Equine Prep AcquisitionDevelopment, the second phase, varies depending upon the type of purchase. Weanlings are purchased toward the end of their first year of life and sold the following summer/fall as yearlings. Yearlings are purchased during their second year and then are sold the following winter/spring as two-year-olds. Horses currently racing are selected on projection of future development and current conditions. Broodmares are selected based upon stallion matings and foal production.

Sales conclude the Pinhooking process. Equine Prep, LLC sells prospects at public auction or privately through contacts in the Thoroughbred Industry. By participating in both private sales and public auctions, the company stays current with market trends and can move accordingly.
